Different insulation materials: Fiberglass: Made from fine glass fibers, it is commonly used in batt or blanket form. Mineral Wool: Similar to fiberglass, it is made from molten mineral fibers. Cellulose: Made from recycled paper, it is often used as loose-fill insulation. Spray Foam: A liquid that expands into foam and provides excellent air sealing properties. Rigid Foam: Panels made of materials like polystyrene, polyisocyanurate, or polyurethane. R-Value: The R-value measures an insulation material's resistance to heat flow. A higher R-value indicates greater resistance and better insulation performance. Application areas: Attics: Insulating the attic helps prevent heat loss or gain through the roof. Walls: Insulating exterior walls improves energy efficiency and thermal comfort. Floors: Insulating floors over unheated spaces (e.g., crawl spaces) reduces heat loss. Basements: Insulation in basements or foundation walls helps maintain consistent temperatures.
